A new literary, sci-fi thriller from acclaimed author Megan Miranda.

With the science of soul-fingerprinting a reality, Alina Chase has spent her entire life imprisoned for the crimes her past-self committed. In an attempt to clear her name, Alina unintentionally trades one prison for another when she escapes, aided by a group of teens whose intentions and motivations are a mystery to her. As she gets to know one of the boys, sparks fly, and Alina believes she may finally be able to trust someone. But when she uncovers clues left behind from her past life that only she can decipher, secrets begin to unravel. Alina must figure out whether she’s more than the soul she inherited, or if she’s fated to repeat the past.

This compelling story will leave readers wondering if this fictional world could become a reality.

Instead of a review or an interview or even a guest post, I opted for something a little bit different for my stop. I was basically asked if my soul were to be reincarnated in a different life, what would I want to be? Now, my first thought was someone famous because, let's be honest, how awesome would that be?! But then I realized, I wanted to be something better; something more. Every one wants to be famous and it's unoriginal. With what I've come up with, I can still have my fame but it would be for something worthwhile. Something amazing.

If I could be anyone, in another life, do you know who I'd want to be? I want to be the one person who finds the cure to cancer. One of many awful, awful diseases that kills so many. They die young, they die old and they die way before their time. What if I could be that one person who finally figures out how to put a stop to it? I mean, if I'm meant to be famous, this would be the best and most fulfilling way to be so. Imagine it, Noble Peace Prize Winner - me, in another life. What an accomplishment. Not only have I succeeded, as that's every person's goal in life but I've helped extend the lives of millions upon millions of people. I've saved them and I can only hope they would cherish the life they'd be given and help us make the world a better place. That was my other option; the person who finally accomplishes something that is so impossible: World Peace. What if I could really do both? Cure cancer and help humanity in the process. Not saying every person who is saved would make a difference in the world but sometimes, it only takes one, right?

So, I ask you, beautiful reader, if you're soul could be reincarnated, what would you want to accomplish? The sky is the limit & be bold enough strive high...

  1. Massive respect right here. I hadn't thought about this question before, but that probably wasn't going to be my first response. That makes me sound like a terrible person, but I probably would have gone along the lines of water quality and purification - it's always been my dream to create some sort of technology that rids water of pharmaceuticals and other endocrine-disrupting-creating pollutants. So, if I were reincarnated, I'd want to be what I hope to be... someone who will save our freshwater supply :D

Anyway. I ramble. I love love love your response, Jessica.

  2. Thank you! It was a tough question because, like I said, my first thought was to like an Oscar winning actress or something but then, that's too generic. I want it to mean something. But I'm glad to see that you'd want your reincarnated soul to mean something, too. See, together, we can make the world a better place. I like that. I cure cancer, you give us healthier water so then overall, everyone is living better and longer lives. It sounds marvelous.
