Implosion by Berinn Rae Review

Implosion by Berinn Rae
(Colliding Worlds Trilogy, #2)
Release Date: March 11, 2013
Publisher: Crimson Romance; 300 pages

Humans and the Sephians have reached a tentative truce and combine forces to pursue the Draeken threat. The war is on…

Sephian warrior Nalea exists only to kill Draeken, and she’s good at her job. That is, until a particularly bloody battle, she finds herself captured by Roden Zyll, a Draeken commander known for his good looks and heartless brutality. Her tormentor ignites a passion she believed impossible, and she despises him for it. Worse, she fears he has no intention of letting her go.

Desperate times call for desperate schemes…
Meanwhile, a tyrant has devised a plan that threatens to obliterate life on earth. Roden has spilled plenty of blood in his time, and he cares little for humans. But when he realizes his leader’s plan could lead to his people’s extinction, he plans a war of his own, a war that needs Nalea to succeed. But does earth stand a chance if its survival depends on Nalea opening her heart to the man who’d enslaved her people?

What can I say? I am a sucker for anything Berinn Rae writes. Yes she does romance, but is it all in your face, graphic romance. No. Is it good steam, but just the right amount? Yes. Man, she really brings you into the story with her writing style, and then you hit the steamy scenes, and man o man, you feel like you are right there in the action.

When I had read Collision, the first book in the series, I was a little hesitant. I am not a fan of aliens that look like humans. However, Berinn won me over with her Sephians. And after playing around with graphics for her characters, I can really picture them now and see the difference. In Implosion, we aren't dealing with a bunch of Sephians though. Mainly just one, but it is about the other aliens, the Draken. Now, these aliens do look like humans, but with one big difference. They have wings. That is alien enough for me! Skin wings on a person, yup alien!

**Spolier** (Highlight to read) I was really anticipating this book. Since the ending of the last one, I had to know what Nalea was hiding and why Roden was oh so happy to have taken her as a prisoner. There are many different twist and turns that I did not see happening with these characters but it added a lot to the story and made a lot of their back stories all come together. I tell you, book 1, I did not like Roden at all. Book 2, LOVE HIM. Why? You need to read it!!

Great great job Berinn, this is a series I would totally recommend you pick up. It is a great romance series, but there is a great and inciting story with it as well!! Cannot wait for book #3!!
