(Chemical Garden, #3)
Release Date: February 12, 2013
Publisher: Simon & Schuster; 384 pages
With the clock ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. After enduring Vaughn’s worst, Rhine finds an unlikely ally in his brother, an eccentric inventor named Reed. She takes refuge in his dilapidated house, though the people she left behind refuse to stay in the past. While Gabriel haunts Rhine’s memories, Cecily is determined to be at Rhine’s side, even if Linden’s feelings are still caught between them.

Meanwhile, Rowan’s growing involvement in an underground resistance compels Rhine to reach him before he does something that cannot be undone. But what she discovers along the way has alarming implications for her future—and about the past her parents never had the chance to explain.

In this breathtaking conclusion to Lauren DeStefano’s Chemical Garden trilogy, everything Rhine knows to be true will be irrevocably shattered.

Have you ever finished a series and gone that can't be all of it...so many things were left unanswered. Then hung your head in disappointment because you knew, even with all those unanswered questions, that it was indeed, the end? Have no fear, this is not one of those books. (Scared ya a little, didn't I?) While this book does certainly play with your emotions and you are left feeling sad and possibly heartbroken you feel surprisingly satisfied. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've felt so...content with a series ending.

For all you Linden lovers out there, I know you might have been disappointed with Fever because Gabriel was in it a lot but I can safely say you'll be happy to hear Linden is Sever...a lot. I can't guarentee your happiness will stay nor can I guarantee Gabriel lovers happiness will ever return but those will just have to be things you'll decide on your own.

From the moment I met Cecily, I've hated her with such passion that I had wished her dead. There were moments, ugly moments when her jealousy took away from whom she became in Sever but overall, I am glad to admit that I actually love Cecily. If any character has grown the most it is definitely her. If any character has grown on me the most it is definitely her, by a long shot. After two books of me wanting to throw the book at her face, I never thought I'd come to the day of me saying these words. Never. Then I saw earlier reviews of people saying they now liked Cecily and I thought them all crazy. Turns out, I was wrong or I've joined the crazytrain...

Though, my heart belongs to Gabriel I have never disliked Linden. He is sweet, protective, naive and loving. Most things you'd want in a guy, minus the naive bits. He grows up a lot in Sever and he come to a realization that his father may not be the man he's always thought him to be. It breaks him down...and if you think he reaches a low there, you have no seen anything yet.

There are so many things I want to say about this but so many things I cannot say for spoiling it is not a cool thing, my friends. All you have to know, if you ever doubted this series with Fever, which I know a lot of my friends really didn't care for it just please, finish it. Sever holds so much greatness to not read it would be unforgivable. Any by some unpleasant reason you still don't like it...guess what? It's over so there's that. I have much respect for Lauren DeStefano for what she did in this book...not many authors have done what she's done. I really wish I could say more but it would give away the entire ending but it was heartbreaking and brave, in my opinion. *highlight to view spoiler* If you're wondering what I'm talking about and are brave enough to accept spoilers...I'm talking about the fact that she kills off one of the love interests. Most authors usually have their heroine choose a boy without killing one...and for her to do that, I think it's brave. Especially fan bases are always so split between the two guys. I really admire her for it... *end spoiler* I thank you for an amazing series and more so, a perfect ending. Thank you.
